Damaged windows at the Warszawa Włochy station. Railway workers talk about the devastation and promise to repair it. They also ensure: there is no threat to passengers.
We informed about the renovation of the Grodzisk line on tvnwarszawa.pl. The works lasted a year, and the trains arrived at the new stations in August 2018.
What new could passengers notice after the renovation? For example, at the Warszawa Włochy stop, on the platform towards the city center, the railway workers erected a roof with a glass wall and a roof. However, four years after construction, this place looks different. Some elements of the glass panes are broken, which was first reported by transport-publiczny.pl.
– At the station you can see several broken windows in the so-called “spider web”. They are damaged over the entire height – described Mateusz Szmelter, who went to the site.
Railway workers: the windows will be replaced
Meanwhile, Karol Jakubowski, spokesman for PKP PLK, informed that the damaged windows will be replaced. “A procedure has been initiated to select a contractor for the task. The analysis carried out by PLK SA indicated that the shafts were probably broken as a result of devastation” – he said.
He also assured that the broken windows “do not pose a threat to travelers”. “The glazing is made of tempered glass and additionally glued, so there are no sharp, protruding edges” – he said.
“We urge people who witness acts of vandalism to report these events to the relevant services. You can inform about each such case by calling the Railway Protection Guard emergency number 22 47 40 000 or directly by calling the police number 997” – he asked.
