The Chairwoman of the District Electoral Commission No. 280 received thanks at the town hall. “We all met Mrs. Jolanta on the election night of October 15-16, when she spoke with emotion about the huge mobilization of Polish women and men,” wrote Rafał Trzaskowski, at the same time thanking all those serving on the electoral commissions.
The Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, thanked the members and chairmen of the District Electoral Commissions. He invited Jolanta Ławrynowicz-Filipiak, chairwoman of the Electoral Commission number 280 in Warsaw, to the city hall.
He emphasized that it had become a symbol of all those who worked hard for long hours in committees, both in Warsaw and those located throughout the country.
“We all met Mrs. Jolanta on the election night of October 15-16, when she spoke with emotion about the huge mobilization of Polish women and men. She was the chairwoman of the District Electoral Commission No. 280 in Warsaw’s Wola district, where you cast your last votes after midnight,” he wrote on the X website .
Finally, he turned to people sitting on the District Electoral Commissions. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your enormous contribution to this celebration of democracy!” – he emphasized.
Queues until midnight and great emotion
During the last parliamentary elections, voters cast their votes at the District Electoral Commission number 280 after midnight. An emotional Mrs. Jolanta talked about the huge mobilization of Polish women and men in the elections. Although it was not the first time she worked on the committee, October 15, 2023 will remain in her memory for a long time.
– The thrill is still there. When I opened the place at 7 o’clock, people were already waiting. There were already signs that things would be different, she told a TVN24 reporter. – This is a great day and I thank the voters for being patient enough to wait in such a long queue. Thank you very much, compatriots, she said.
