Changes in traffic organization in Odolany. Road workers will restore the possibility of driving in both directions on the next section of Jana Kazimierza Street. This means that drivers will use two lanes along its entire length.
The Municipal Roads Authority announces that on Monday, December 23 at 6 a.m. the second lane on Jana Kazimierza Street will be opened. The changes concern the section between Ordona and Gizów streets. It will be possible to travel in two directions along the entire road until Studzienna Street. Road engineers explain that for now, drivers will drive on the penultimate layer of asphalt, i.e. the binding layer.
“Exits from Władysława Warneńczyka Street and internal roads on Jana Kazimierza Street will be in both directions. On the odd side of the street, there will be a parking ban with information about the possibility of towing the vehicle at the owner's expense,” ZDM warns.
For now, pedestrians will be able to use the temporary zebra crossing on Ordona at the junction with Jana Kazimierza. The sidewalk will be available on both sides of the street up to the height of the property at Jana Kazimierza 5 and 10. Further on, towards Giza, pedestrians can only move on the even-numbered side.
Metamorphosis of Jana Kazimierza Street
The reconstruction of Jana Kazimierza Street is caused by the changes that Odolany has undergone in recent years, transforming it from industrial to residential areas. “The road, sidewalks and entrances to properties are being rebuilt along the entire length of Jana Kazimierza Street. A bicycle path is also being built. Parking spaces have been designated in parking bays. Crosswalks with shelters will ensure pedestrian safety,” ZDM reminds.
The cost of the reconstruction is PLN 35 million. The contractor has 20 months to implement it from the moment the contract was signed in May 2023. Field work began in July last year.
