From Monday, drivers driving along Puławska Street towards Ursynów will have only one lane at their disposal for a short distance. The reason for the works being carried out is the need to remove the collision of the future tram track to Wilanów with the underground infrastructure of Puławska Street.

On Monday, January 8, at 10 p.m., road workers will narrow the road on Puławska Street towards Ursynów, between Goworka and Rakowiecka. Drivers will drive in one lane: straight or right onto Rakowiecka. During the works, this lane will be marked once from the sidewalk and once from the tram tracks.

Exit from Rakowiecka Street to Puławska is always possible only to the right.

The disruptions will last about a month.

The works result from the collision of the future tram track to Wilanów with the underground infrastructure of Puławska Street. The city hall explained that the collision was discovered only during construction. “The underground infrastructure that needs to be moved has not been inventoried,” he added.

The difficulties lasted a year

The works on Puławska Street lasted a year. On At the beginning of September 2023, trams returned there. A few days later drivers also started using both roads. The reconstruction of the track between Plac Unii Lubelskiej and Racławicka was related to the construction of the line to Wilanów, which will join the existing network here. Tram drivers also took advantage of the opportunity and renovated the further section to Madalińskiego.

At the end of December 2023, the road was cleared Goworka and Spacerowa. Then, road traffic also returned to the intersection of Gagarina, Spacerowa and Belwederska, which is crucial for the Mokotów district. A turn from Puławska to Goworka has also been made available, giving access to Dolny Mokotów.

“The tram will run along Gagarina Street in the spring of 2024, and it will reach Wilanów at the beginning of the school year in 2024,” the city hall declares.
