A tender for the supply of 30 new electric buses has been resolved in Warsaw. China’s Yutong will make 60 percent of the delivery.

Adam Stawicki, spokesman for Miejskie Zakłady Autobusowe, said that the tender committee had selected companies to deliver 30 new electric buses for Warsaw. This is Solaris, known in the capital, as well as Busnex, which is a representative of the Chinese concern Yutong.

18 buses will be delivered by China’s Yutong

In the first part of the tender for the supply of 12 electric buses with a length of 12 meters, the offer of Solaris Bus & Coach from Bolechów near Poznań was considered the most advantageous. The buses will be powered by both a plug and a high-power pantograph charger. Buses of this brand are known to Warsaw residents, as twenty Solaris Urbino 12 Electric buses have been running on the streets of Warsaw for several years. They can most often be found on route 222.

The most advantageous offer in the second part of the procedure – for 18 High Energy electric buses with increased battery power – was submitted by a debutant – Busnex. This also concerns the delivery of 12-meter vehicles, but they will only be powered by a plug. Busnex is a representative of the Chinese Yutong, which implemented, among others, a large contract for 888 electric buses for the World Cup in Qatar. In Poland, Yutongs are also used in several cities, and in MZA Yutong U12 is used as part of annual tests.
