The capital city hall has just announced the signing of a contract for the installation of Christmas illumination. In the 2023/2024 season, city Christmas decorations will refer to the 1950s and 1960s.
As reported by the capital city hall, the largest Christmas tree in the country, 27 meters high, will be erected on Zamkowy Square. The multimedia tree will be made of materials derived from green energy sources. Once again, the company Multidekor, which won the tender, will deal with the production of lighting.
– It is true that the heat does not let up, but I assure you, it’s not a mirage. These are visualizations of the new version of the Christmas illumination, which will decorate Warsaw in December. We have just signed another contract with Multidekor, which, as in previous years, presented us with the best offer. The company located near Warsaw will not only provide us with a unique, festive atmosphere with light decorations in representative places of the capital, but will also take care of the climate – using energy-saving solutions – said the Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski.
“Ability to interact, make sounds”
On Monday, the company signed a three-year contract for the Christmas lighting of Warsaw with the Municipal Roads Authority.
– Every year we offer Warsaw a new version of successive epochs of the city’s history. After decorations from the time of “Lalka”, a trip around the interwar capital, the time has come for Warsaw, seen through the eyes of Wiech, Tadeusz Konwicki and Agnieszka Osiecka. All light attractions have been designed with audiences of all ages and expectations in mind. They have the ability to interact, make sounds, each of the elements can be touched and experienced. I am glad that our company will once again transform Warsaw with light, said Tomasz Podogrocki, Vice-President of Multidekor.
On the Royal Route and Świętokrzyska Street, there will be decorations referring to the 1950s and 1960s. These will be traditional baubles, Christmas tree lights and retro-style chains. There will be saturators, shop scales, telephones, radio and TV with evening entertainment. So that the youngest could get acquainted with the atmosphere of the childhood of their parents and grandparents. Retro carousels and toys will also be waiting for the kids.
– When designing this year’s collection for Warsaw, my team tried to incorporate memories and the image of characteristic forms and ornaments that are still vivid in our minds, which once pleased us, and which are now worth showing to new generations – said the head of the team working at Multidekor on the concept of the exhibition for the capital Olga Mościcka.
On the streets of the city you will also be able to see the mermaid – the legendary car from FSO and the iconic lynx motorcycle. A colorful show of timeless ornaments will appear in December this year.
