The capital’s town hall informed that railway workers are finishing work in the tunnels of Aleja Prymasa Tysiąclecia. Therefore, on Sunday around 5 pm, the corridor for pedestrians and cyclists will be closed, who will be directed to the adjacent tunnel.

The corridor will be unavailable for about a month. “In return, the railway workers will arrange a pedestrian and bicycle route on the road in the eastern tunnel. Drivers going towards Wolska Street will have one 3.5 m wide lane here. Non-motorized people will use the rest of the road” – informed the capital city hall.

An additional lane for drivers will be marked out in the middle tunnel, where there will be two lanes – one will be used, as before, by drivers leaving the tunnel from Aleje Jerozolimskie (from the Ursus side), and the other going from the center and Bitwy Warszawskiej 1920 Street.

In the next stage, railway workers will occupy the western tunnel, i.e. the one used by drivers towards Aleje Jerozolimskie. Works in this place are planned during the summer holidays.

Works in the tunnels are related to the modernization of the Zachodni Railway Station. As part of the investment, additional platforms will be built, and all platforms, including the existing ones, will be roofed. In addition, a new station building is being built on the side of Wola. According to the assurances of railwaymen, the investment will be completed in 2023.
