Two cars collided at the exit from the Southern Bypass of Warsaw. According to police, the driver of one of the vehicles fled the scene. Witnesses say he may have been under the influence of alcohol.
The collision occurred around 5.40 p.m. before the exit to Przyczółkowa Street from the road towards Wawer. – There was a collision between a Volkswagen and a Mazda. Preliminary investigations indicate that the driver of the Volkswagen left the scene on foot. The driver of the Mazda was checked for sobriety, he was sober, informs Małgorzata Wersocka from the Warsaw Police Headquarters.
No one was injured, he said. Police officers are investigating the circumstances of the collision at the scene. The driver of the Volkswagen has not yet been identified.
Our reporter Mateusz Szmelter reports that the broken cars are on the right lane of the exit to Przyczółkowa. – It is closed to traffic, but it does not cause major difficulties – he points out. He also describes that a Volkswagen delivery van hit the rear of a Mazda. Witnesses to the collision say the driver who fled the scene may have been under the influence of alcohol.
