Warsaw. Collision of a passenger car with a tram on Rakowiecka Street

On Wednesday afternoon, a passenger car and a tram collided on Rakowiecka Street. The driver was stuck. Firefighters evacuated him from the car. There were difficulties in tram traffic.

– The tram was going towards Puławska. The driver of the Mitsubishi wanted to enter the property, he probably didn’t make sure he could do it, so he collided with the tram. He was stuck, firefighters helped him evacuate. He was taken to hospital. The ride on Rakowiecka Street was suspended – Tomasz Zieliński, a reporter for tvnwarszawa.pl, found out.

The driver couldn’t get out

Two fire brigade units were dispatched to the site. – It’s a collision between a tram and a passenger car. The driver could not get out of the vehicle. He couldn’t open the door. We helped him get out of the car. He was handed over to the emergency medical team, said senior midshipman Bogdan Smoter from the State Fire Service.

There were difficulties

As we learned from Tramwaje Warszawskie, tram number 17, traveling towards Winnica, was involved in the incident. Tram traffic was disrupted for over 40 minutes on an approximately 5-kilometer section from Rondo ONZ to Woronicza.
