From September 2nd until the end of October, the Copernicus Science Centre will be closed. The planetarium will remain unavailable to visitors until January next year. A thorough renovation of the ventilation and air conditioning system is necessary.

“Our air conditioning and ventilation systems have stopped working efficiently, which can be inconvenient, especially in the summer. We want everyone to be able to visit comfortably, so we have to carry out renovations. As a result, the entire Copernicus Science Centre will be closed in September and October, and the Planetarium – until January,” the Copernicus Science Centre informed on its website.

Animators go out into the field

The CNK will be closed to visitors, but classes for schools will continue to be held in the new building next door – the Copernican Revolution Workshop. Classes will be free of charge.

Kopernik will also continue to work in the field. Representatives of the facility announce that for the next two months they will appear in various districts of Warsaw. “Our animators have already packed a small foldable stage, experimentation essentials, studied the city plan and are ready to go on tour,” the statement assured.

Where the animators will be appearing is a secret for now. To find out, you’ll have to follow the center on social media.

The garden remains open

CNK will be closed with two exceptions. You can still visit the garden on roof of the building. In addition, from October 11 to 13, the conference center will host the previously planned Festival of Transformation under the slogan “What will we build the future from?”

“All already purchased vouchers and valid Copernicus Club subscriptions will be extended by the period of closure of the Copernicus Science Centre. There is no need to report this matter, the process is carried out automatically,” assure CNK representatives.

After the renovation, new attractions will appear in Copernicus. “We will open a new temporary exhibition on poisons, which will feature poisonous animals. Our Laboratories and the scenarios of classes conducted in them will change. The planetarium will be equipped with new projectors,” we read in the institution's announcement.
