The 22 -year -old detained after the attack heard the charge of murder with special cruelty, attempted murder and insulting the corpse – a representative of the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw said on Thursday afternoon.

On Thursday around 3pm, procedural activities began with the participation of a detained 22-year-old in the building of the Warsaw Śródmieście-Północ District Prosecutor's Office.
– The activities carried out allowed to present the allegations of Mieszko R. concern the murder with particular cruelty. as well as attempted the murder of a university guard security guard, as well as insulting the corpse at the scene of the incident – the representative of the prosecutor's office said.
A woman murdered in the UW campus
The attack took place on Wednesday evening. The young man attacked two people with an ax-a 53-year-old woman, an administrative employee of the University of Warsaw and a 39-year-old employee of the university guard who tried to protect his friend.
The attacked woman closed the Maximum auditorium building after class. As a result of injuries, the 53-year-old died on the spot. The guard was taken to a hospital with severe injuries. His condition is very serious. Has cut wounds of both hands and head. Investigators informed on Thursday that his life was not in danger.
The SOP officer helped stop
At the time when an attack took place at the University of Warsaw, open lectures, which began at 16.30. One of the participants was the Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar, accompanied by officers of the State Protection Service.
The minister confirmed in social media that the SOP officer was alerted about the event, ran to the place and successfully supported the university guard in intervention.
“Hardly anyone wanted to help”
A press spokesman for the Ministry of the Interior and Administration Jacek Dobrzyński said on Thursday afternoon that the SOP officer “behaved very professionally and praise him for that”.
– I am worried that the mass of people who witnessed this event did not intervene. We even noted strange behavior that some people made videos, recording the whole event. It is probably the most terrifying and disturbing that hardly anyone wanted to help – Dobrzyński told journalists.
