Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on Wednesday that he awarded financial prizes The wounded guard of the University of Warsaw and the officer of the State Protection Service, who intervened during a deadly attack on the porter of the Maximum auditorium in Krakowskie Przedmieście on May 7. “I have just applied to the president for awards to the guard who was wounded during the attempt to overpower the murderer from the University of Warsaw and for the intervening officer of the SOP,” said the prime minister on Wednesday on the portal X. He added that he also awarded both financial prizes, and the children of the victims would receive special pensions.

Rector grateful to the Prime Minister

Rector of the University of Warsaw prof. Alojzy Nowak, asked to comment on the words of Prime Minister Tusk, said that “we accepted the words and decision of the Prime Minister with great satisfaction, thanking on behalf of the honored children themselves, the children of our tragically deceased friend and the entire university community.”

He emphasized that this is extremely important for the academic community. He also expressed gratitude to the heads of higher education departments, internal affairs and administration, as well as the capital's commanders and the main police.

– All their actions are supported by them and give hope to develop systemic solutions increasing safety at universities – noted the Rector of the University of Warsaw.

At the same time, he declared that “the decision to help the families of the victims of the perpetrator of this bestial murder, as well as intervening guards, is still valid.” – We are one great university family and help in this situation is our duty – he added.

The guard left the hospital

A law student attacked a porter

Mieszko R., a 22-year-old student of the Faculty of Law of the University of Warsaw, attacked the porter last Wednesday, who closed the door to the Maximum auditorium. The woman did not survive the attack and died on the spot.

A guard employee of the University of Warsaw started to help a womanwhich the attacker also inflicted severe wounds. The man in a serious condition went to the hospital.

The suspect was detained.

In the intervention, the current officer of the State Protection Service helped on site, who provided assistance to intervening employees of the University of Warsaw Guard, and also provided first aid to the pre -medical wounded employee.
