A man who was found on Thursday in a house in Warsaw’s Białołęka district was charged with a double homicide. According to the prosecutor’s office, he is suspected of killing his sister and her son. An ax was found at the scene – the likely murder weapon.
Last Thursday bodies of two people were found in one of the single-family houses on Nowodworska Street. A third person was injured and was transported to the hospital with the assistance of the police. Several police crews, including technicians, were at the scene. Earlier, the fire brigade also intervened, which helped the policemen get into the building through the balcony door.
Unofficially, we learned that the perpetrator is a man in his 40s. He killed a woman of a similar age with an ax on the ground floor of the building, and a man in his 20s on the first floor. Then the attacker was about to take his own life, but he was saved.
The murder weapon was found
According to the prosecutor’s office on Monday, the suspect has already left the hospital. – A man who was found as a third person at the scene has been charged with double homicide. The court arrested the suspect for three months, said Katarzyna Skrzeczkowska, spokeswoman for the Warsaw-Praga District Prosecutor’s Office. And she confirmed that the suspect is in his 40s.
As Skrzeczkowska reported, the suspect and the victims had family affinities. – He’s the dead woman’s brother. She was about 50 years old. The deceased man, aged about 20, was her son, the prosecutor said. She added that the murder weapon, which was an ax, was secured at the scene.
An autopsy was ordered on both victims.
