The 74-year-old and his granddaughters came to pay tribute to the insurgents at the Warsaw Uprising Mound. At the top, he lost consciousness and stopped breathing. Municipal guards rushed to his aid and performed resuscitation for 30 minutes.

Municipal guards were securing the Warsaw Uprising Mound on the afternoon of August 6. Just after 1:30 p.m., they noticed a senior citizen riding a bicycle up the Mound, accompanied by a woman and two girls aged 18. The man left his bicycle at the barrier and fell to the ground.

“We heard the girls screaming terrifyingly: 'grandpa, grandpa, help'. We immediately ran to the man. We checked his vital signs. The man was not breathing, did not respond to stimuli, and his pulse was undetectable. We ordered a man standing nearby to call an ambulance, and we immediately started resuscitation,” said junior guard Tomasz Mazur, who, together with inspector Konrad TaÅ„ski, rescued the senior citizen, as quoted in the release.

The guards asked a woman visiting the Mound to look after the injured man's granddaughters, who took the children to a lower level to spare them from traumatic experiences.
