On August 30, a drone show will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising. The sky over the capital will be lit up by 615 unmanned aerial vehicles, which will form 12 symbolic figures in a synchronous swarm.
This unique event will be the largest show of this type in Poland, breaking the previous record of 260 drones, and one of the largest in Europe – announces the capital city hall.
“The drones will rise in an impressive sequential take-off to a height of 60 to 120 meters, creating four light layers, and then they will start a show in which the figures they create will reach a height of about 120 meters,” officials said in a press release.
Lighting effects in the colors of Poland and Warsaw
During the show, they will cover great distances, creating formations up to 200 meters wide. Viewers will be able to admire three-dimensional formations, light effects, and all this in colors inspired by the national colors of Poland and Warsaw.
The musical setting will be provided by the symphonic piece “Drones Over the City” composed by Karim Martusewicz, the son of one of the insurgents, fully dedicated to the Warsaw Uprising. During the show, the audience will also hear a unique narration, enriched with the real voices and statements of the insurgents, made available by the Warsaw Uprising Museum from the Oral History Archive.
The best place to observe this extraordinary spectacle will be Vistula Boulevard of Gen. George Smith Patton. The show will last about 12 minutes and will consist of 12 figures referring to heroic events from 80 years ago. The whole thing was prepared by ASTRANATE, a pioneer in organizing professional drone shows in Poland.
