On Monday, a section of the road and sidewalk collapsed at Nowogrodzka Street. This is the result of a water mains failure. It is being removed. Some buildings do not have access to running water.
We received the first information and a photo from the scene of the incident at Kontakt 24. “Due to a water installation failure, part of the road and the entrance to the housing estate at ul. Nowogrodzka 82 collapsed,” the reporting person said.
Several buildings without water
We contacted Jolanta Maliszewska, spokeswoman for the Municipal Water and Sewerage Company in Warsaw, regarding this matter.
– I confirm that around 8.30 we received a report about a water supply line failure at Nowogrodzka Street. As a result of its crack, a part of the street collapsed. The MPWiK technical team is already on site. We are working on removing the failure, said Maliszewska.
As the representative of the city's waterworks added, due to the burst pipe, it was necessary to cut off access to water in the surrounding buildings from the intersection with Raszyńska Street to the property at 76 Nowogrodzka.
– A water tanker will be placed at the residents' disposal near the breakdown. Work on removing the failure is to be completed in the afternoon, concluded Maliszewska.
