Policemen from the Speed ​​group inspected nearly 1,300 vehicles in the center of the capital during the holiday weekend. Among them, as many as 467 exceeded the speed limit. 104 registration evidence was detained. The total amount of finished fines is over PLN 330,000. The actions were related to combating illegal races and eliminating transformed cars from roads that generate excessive noise.

The Warsaw Police Headquarters summarized on Friday the actions of officers from the Speed ​​group during the Christmas weekend. The inspections were aimed at participants of illegal races and noise on the streets of Warsaw generated by vehicles. They were conducted in the center, where residents often complain of nuisance related to breaking the rules by sports drivers of cars and motorcycles.

In total, 1291 vehicles were inspected, among which 467 drivers exceeded the speed limit. “Policemen also detained 104 registration evidence, detained three people who had withdrawn rights to drive vehicles and another three persons who were driving vehicles despite the prohibition issued by the court” – calculates KSP in the social media entry.

During the inspection, three drunk drivers and seven were detained after using alcohol. In addition, 22 vehicles were checked with a sonometer, i.e. a device for measuring sound volume.

“Officers of the Road Traffic Department imposed a total of 669 penalty seats on drivers for PLN 333 190” – informs the capital police.

Control drivers grossly breaking the rules

“Policemen respond to each application, but also themselves during their daily service in a strong way intervene in every situation when they reveal any cases of violations of law in road traffic, including the most socially burdensome” – emphasizes KSP.

The entry states that as part of other activities carried out in the first quarter of 2025, 1022 vehicles were inspected against the drivers grossly breaking, and 112 registration documents and 20 driving licenses were detained. 459 penalty fines were imposed for PLN 190,000. Some of the drivers punished, among others, participated in illegal races.

“There was no, there is no consent for any manifestations of breaking the law on the road, including the most socially burdensome, i.e. generating excessive noise by sports drivers of cars or motorcycles” – the police emphasize.
