A huge farmers’ protest is taking place in Warsaw. There were clashes with the police in front of the Sejm. They are injured. A dozen or so people were detained.

Scuffles between police officers and protesters broke out on the street. Wiejska, near the Sejm building. A police car with a water cannon is parked next to the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland. The policemen wear vests and helmets and protect themselves with shields. Flares and tires were burning in front of the Prime Minister’s office, and the S17 route near the intersection with the Southern Bypass of Warsaw was blocked. A police helicopter flies over the city center.

There were clashes with the police near the Sejm. Farmers threw firecrackers and paving stones at the police.

Some protesters called for storming the Sejm. According to Maja Wójcikowska, TVN24 reporter, one of the protesters tried to break into the Sejm building.

The officers used gas and stun grenades. The police asked protesters to disperse. There are also water cannons on site.

“During the events taking place at Wiejska Street, several policemen were injured. Currently, several dozen people have been detained. Some of the protesters tried to get through the barriers securing the Sejm premises. They were prevented from doing so,” the Warsaw police reported on the X website.
