– We received a report at around 1:30 a.m. The incident occurred near Torwar and initial findings indicate that a Volkswagen passenger car hit the back of a Ford, which then hit the energy-absorbing barriers. As a result of this incident, the 37-year-old passenger of the Ford died at the scene – told us BartÅ‚omiej ÅšniadaÅ‚a from the press team of the Warsaw Police Headquarters.
Four people in hospital and drunk. Who was driving the car?
As the police officer added, a total of four people were taken to hospital: three people from the Ford, i.e. the 37-year-old driver and two children aged four and eight, as well as the woman who was travelling in the Volkswagen.
ŚśniadaÅ‚a also reported that at the scene, police officers also found three men who were traveling in a Volkswagen. – They were drunk. The first of them, a 22-year-old, had over two per mille of alcohol in his system, and the 27- and 28-year-olds had over one per mille each. They were detained and their vehicle was secured in the police parking lot for further tests – the police officer indicated. As he summed up, investigators are now determining which of the men was driving the car at the time of the accident.
