Warsaw. Fatal beating in Aleje Jerozolimskie. “The suspect arrested at the border crossing has already been convicted of the same”

The city center policemen tracked down the suspect in a fatal beating, which took place a year ago in one of the shops in Aleje Jerozolimskie. According to the spokesman of the district headquarters, the man ran into the border crossing in Dorohusk, trying to escape from Poland. It turned out that he had already been convicted of the same crime in Ukraine.

– The case started in August last year. It was then that a man sitting there was beaten in front of one of the shops in Aleje Jerozolimskie. Despite the medical assistance provided, the man died in hospital as a result of his injuries. The investigation of the case and the arrest of the perpetrator was undertaken by officers from the city center department for fighting crime against life and health – reports the spokesman of the city center headquarters, Robert Szumiata.

The suspect was arrested in cooperation with the Warsaw-Śródmieście District Prosecutor’s Office. – The tedious work of policemen and investigators, many hours of analyzing recordings from surveillance cameras and interrogating witnesses of the event helped in determining the man’s image and personal data. Once it was known who the perpetrator was, the prosecution issued an arrest warrant for the 36-year-old. A Ukrainian citizen ran into a border crossing in Dorohusk. Police: Has been convicted of the same crime once

As he noted, during the interrogation, the man confessed to the alleged offense. – He has already heard the charge of a fatal beating, for which the Penal Code provides for up to 10 years imprisonment. At the request of the prosecutor’s office, the court decided to arrest him temporarily for three months, the spokesman of the city center command said.

It also turned out that this is not the first time that the 36-year-old has entered into such a serious conflict with the law. – In 2009, a man was sentenced in Ukraine to five years in prison for the same crime – summed up Shumiata.
