A violent storm caused the wells to not keep up with the drainage of water. The Żolibo part of the Wisłostrada River is flooded once again.
As described by Mateusz Szmelter from tvnwarszawa.pl, she found a road under the water at the level of the Citadel. Cars and buses move at minimal speed there. It’s a violent effect the storm that passes over Warsaw on Thursday morning.
Wojciech Kapczyński from the Warsaw fire brigade admitted in the morning that Żoliborz was among the districts most affected by the downpour. Firefighters mainly intervene in flooding.
Another flooding of Wisłostrada
This is not the first time that water has reached the Wisłostrada road. Occurs during major downpours. Similar difficulties occurred almost a year ago, when a huge storm hit Warsaw at the end of June. Then the road was blocked in both directions.
Then the town hall blamed the flooding of Wisłostrada responsible for securing the construction site at the Citadel of the Polish Army Museum, reporting to the Ministry of National Defense. According to the city authorities, the drains were clogged with dirt, and the drains could not be kept up to speed.
