On Tuesday, 170 sand spreaders were running on the streets of Warsaw from the early morning hours. A level 1 warning for freezing precipitation is in effect in the city.
As reported by the City Cleaning Department on Tuesday morning, sand spreaders appeared on the streets of the capital. “Since 4 a.m., 170 sand spreaders have been operating on the streets where city buses run. This is a total of 1,500 km of the capital’s roads. The rest are being cleaned, among others, at the request of district offices,” we read in the ZOM press release.
A first degree warning against freezing precipitation is in force in the Masovian Voivodeship. Periods of light snow and sleet are forecast, sometimes turning into light freezing rain or drizzle causing black ice. The freezing precipitation zone will move from the northeast to the southwest. The alerts will be valid until 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
