One of the drivers in front of a nightclub in Gocław first hit another car, then hit a man. Witnesses tried to stop and overpower the perpetrator of the accident, who started to run away. – We found his papers. He had a police ID – describes Mr. Mariusz, a taxi driver who witnessed the second time inappropriate behavior involving a policeman in this place.
On Sunday, Mr. Mariusz, a taxi driver, reported to the editorial office of Kontakt 24, who once again alarms about the incident in front of the nightclub at Wale Miedzeszyński in Gocław. At night, before three o’clock, he saw the perpetrator of hitting a pedestrian trying to escape. The driver also participated in the citizen arrest of the perpetrator and suspected that it could be a police officer.
“Some followed him, some ran”
“I saw a car hit a man who flew over the hood onto the other car. He had major injuries. The driver who caused the collision drove away. Many people followed him. Some followed him, some ran. I was also involved in the chase,” he said.
– We tried to subdue him. We found his papers. He had a police ID card, he added.
KSP confirms it’s a policeman
Staff sergeant Rafał Markiewicz from the Capital Police Headquarters provided us with information about the accident. – In the vicinity of the nightclub on Wale Miedzeszyński, the Chevrolet driver was reversing and hit another vehicle, then moved forward and hit a man. The driver tried to leave the scene, but was prevented by bystanders who called 112, the police officer describes.
The Chevrolet driver tried to flee on foot. He was stopped by a traffic patrol who arrived at the scene. The driver refused to take a breathalyser test, so he was taken to the hospital for alcohol and other psychoactive substance tests. We don’t have test results yet. The injured man was also taken to the hospital. The driver of the Chevrolet was a police officer, Markiewicz said.
The staff sergeant said that the circumstances of the incident were being clarified and he could not provide the unit in which the policeman works.
