Police officers from Śródmieście detained a 27-year-old Russian suspected of burglary. According to the officers, the man robbed two stores, took cash from them and destroyed some of their items. The starts were valued at PLN 17,000.
– Police officers from the downtown Department for Combating Property Crime detained a 27-year-old man who broke into two stores after closing the shopping mall. In both cases, the perpetrator broke the windows in the front door and then stole a cash box, a mobile phone and two payment terminals from the premises – said Robert Szumiata from the Warsaw I District Headquarters.
The policeman calculated that the man damaged the printer, touch terminal and store advertising. – While running away, the 27-year-old threw away the empty cassette and his mobile phone. Shop owners estimated their losses at over PLN 17,000, said the spokesman for the downtown police.
He faces deportation
As it turned out, the suspect is a Russian citizen who is staying in Poland illegally. He faces deportation. – The man has already heard the charges and pleaded guilty. At the request of the Warsaw Śródmieście Północ District Prosecutor’s Office, the court decided to temporarily arrest the 27-year-old for three months. For burglary, the Penal Code provides for up to 10 years’ imprisonment – summed up Robert Szumiata.
