Police officers from Warsaw’s Śródmieście district detained a man suspected of theft and burglary of a bank account. – The 34-year-old took everything from his partners’ apartments that could be quickly sold. He also stole money from their accounts, police say.
Police officers from Śródmieście detained a 34-year-old man who was stealing from his life partners. – The man moved into some of them and then – according to the women – robbed them of jewelry, photographic and electronic equipment and other items. The 34-year-old also hacked into a bank account and spent money that did not belong to him – describes Robert Szumiata, spokesman for the downtown police.
He adds that the man sold the items to random people via the Internet or in pawnshops. In this way, the robbed women lost nearly PLN 16,000. The police located the man in one of the apartments in the Sokołów Podlaski commune.
The 34-year-old pleaded guilty to some of the charges against him. The Penal Code provides for up to five years in prison for theft.
