A passenger car driver hit policemen on the promenade in Chmielna. As Tomasz Zieliński from tvnwarszawa.pl found out, when he ran away, the man rammed everything he had on his way.
– You can see a crashed bus of a delivery company, a broken bicycle, overturned concrete poles. There is also an unmarked police car, which is slightly damaged – described Tomasz Zieliński from the scene. He added that the car was stopped by policemen on Grzybowska Street, in front of Jana Pawła II Avenue. Zieliński found out that there were two people inside: a man and a woman.
– The policemen stopped the BMW vehicle for inspection. There was a driver and a passenger in the vehicle. When the policemen intervened, the man began to behave aggressively, then he moved and ran down two policemen – Gabriel Putyr from the press section of the Warsaw Police Headquarters told us. She added that the officers were brought to the hospital “with bodily injuries”.
– While escaping, the driver damaged the lantern, the building, a nearby vehicle and a police car – the policewoman calculated. The information quickly reached other crews, who quickly stopped the driver a few kilometers away on Grzybowska Street. Activities are still going on, the man is behaving aggressively all the time, concluded Putyra.
The incident took place on Monday around 11.40. On ul. Chmielna in Warsaw, the police detained a BMW driver for inspection. “During the sobriety check, the man began to behave aggressively. He started hitting two policemen” – emphasized Commissioner Sylwester Marczak.
As the Polish Press Agency found unofficially, the detained man is well known to law enforcement agencies. He had previous records of rape and crimes against life and health.
