A man with a knife was running along Skierniewicka Street in Warsaw’s Wola district. He was noticed by a woman near the bus stop who asked the city guard patrol for help. According to the police, he had more than 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his system.

According to the city police, the incident happened last weekend.

It was almost 7 pm when a frightened woman ran up to the officers patrolling Skierniewicka Street. She informed them of a man who was “running around brandishing a knife at a bus stop where there were people.” The guards headed in the indicated direction.

“When they arrived near the bus stop, they noticed a nervous man with a kitchen knife in his hand,” they wrote in a statement. As the guards added, the 56-year-old tried to hide it in his sleeve and then threw it into one of the bags. “The guards calmed down the aggressor and then searched them. They found two large knives in the bags at the bus stop” – SM officers reported.

They added that the man could not explain his behavior. “While the guards were securing dangerous objects, a police patrol arrived at the scene, to which the guards handed over the arrested man with dangerous tools” – reads the release.

Police: he was drunk

We asked about the case at the police station in Warsaw’s Wola district. “Police received a report of a drunken man arguing. After testing with a breathalyzer, it turned out that he had over 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his body. The man was brought to sober up in the Capital Center for Intoxicated People, said Chief Commissioner Marta Sulowska, a spokeswoman for the Wola Police Department, in an interview with tvnwarszawa.pl.

The policewoman noted that “the man did not threaten anyone, there are no injured people and nothing happened to anyone”.
