Policemen from the Warsaw VI District Headquarters in Prague detained a man who stole a familiar engagement ring, and when she tried to regain him, he attacked her with gas. The 30-year-old faces up to 15 years in prison.
On Monday, March 31, a robbed woman was waiting for a patrol in front of the shopping mall at WileÅ„ska Street. The 33-year-old explained to the police that she was robbed by a “old” friend whom she knew only by name.
The man forcibly pulled an engagement ring from her finger. When she tried to get him back, the man attacked her with gas. He also threatened to beat her if he “did not let go” – said the headquarters in Prague, Commissioner Paulina Onyszko.
The woman followed the attacker, keeping a safe distance. The man entered the pawnshop, and when he left the premises and entered the gallery, she lost him by view.
He sold a ring in a pawnshop
– The 33-year-old gave the police to all information about this event, as well as a description of the attacker. She started with the uniformed search. These, however, did not lead to finding a man – a policewoman continued.
The woman testified at the Warsaw VI Police District Headquarters. Further findings in this matter were conducted by criminals from the team to fight crime against life and health. The operational analyzed all information about the attacker. As a result of the actions taken, they determined his address of residence in Wola.
– They also stopped him there on Tuesday. They secured pepper spray and its mobile phone, in which the photo of the ring described by the victim was visible. The man confessed to theft and told where he sold it. The criminals went to the indicated pawnshop and regained the ring – indicated the Commissioner Onyszko.
On Wednesday, policemen led a 30-year-old to interrogate to the Warsaw Praga Północ District Prosecutor's Office. There, the investigation prosecutor charged him with robbery in recidivism and applied to him police supervision combined with a ban on approaching and contacting her. The 30-year-old is punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment.
