The police detained a 42-year-old man who first took alcohol out of the supermarket and then – when a security guard intervened – attacked him, brandishing a cleaver and threatening him with death.
Patrol officers were sent to intervene at the supermarket. “A man was caught there, who first stole alcohol and then attacked a security guard who was trying to prevent the suspect from escaping,” Joanna WÄ™grzyniak, spokeswoman for the South Praga police, said in a press release.
“The 42-year-old threatened to kill the security guard while brandishing a kitchen cleaver. He was caught and handed over to officers from the Intelligence and Patrol Department,” he added.
He won't go into the market
The detainee was taken care of by detectives and investigators. A report of suspicion of a crime was received in the case, witnesses were questioned, and evidence was secured.
On this basis, the 42-year-old was charged with robbery at the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw Praga-Południe. He was placed under police supervision, banned from being in the supermarket and from approaching or contacting the injured party. This crime is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
