The police detained a man suspected of stealing 14 laptops from an office building in the center of Warsaw. The 45-year-old pleaded guilty. He operated in conditions of recidivism. He faces up to 15 years in prison.
Police officers from Śródmieście were working on a case of a theft and burglary of an office building on Aleja Jana Pawła II. The officers secured surveillance footage and interviewed people who may have had important information.
– It all ended with the identification of the suspect. It turned out to be a 45-year-old man who stole his wife's access card to the office building where she worked. Several times he helped her while she was working, and then he came back and stole laptops. The man was arrested near his place of residence. In a conversation with the police, he admitted to burglary – said junior aspirant Jakub Pacyniak, press spokesman for the Warsaw I District Police Headquarters.

He committed a similar crime in the past
The police recovered 9 out of 14 stolen laptops. After spending a night in a police cell, the 45-year-old was charged with burglary. – It turned out that he was operating under conditions of recidivism. He committed a similar crime in the past. He may face up to 15 years in prison. By the decision of the Warsaw Śródmieście-Północ District Prosecutor's Office, the man was placed under police supervision – explained the policeman.
