– A 34-year-old stateless person of Latvian nationality wanted by the Latvian authorities under a European Arrest Warrant and an Interpol red notice was apprehended at Chopin Airport by Border Guard officers – said the spokeswoman for the Commander of the Nadwiślański Border Guard Unit, Capt. Dagmara Bielec.
The arrest took place on Sunday after the plane arrived from Bucharest. When the guards checked the 34-year-old man's identity, it turned out that he was wanted on a European Arrest Warrant and an Interpol red notice issued by the Latvian authorities for drug offences.
– After completing the activities, the traveller was detained, and today, under the supervision of Border Guard officers, he was transported to the Warsaw District Prosecutor's Office, where further activities in the case will be conducted against him – Bielec said.
