A 32-year-old Georgian citizen was wanted by the German judiciary on a European Arrest Warrant. He fell during passport control at Chopin Airport. The man was detained by officers of the Warsaw-Okęcie Border Guard.

As the press spokeswoman of the Nadwiślański Border Guard Unit, Capt. SG Dagmara Bielec, the man was detained last Monday after the arrival of the plane from Kutaisi.

Wanted for theft

“The foreigner fell into the hands of Border Guard officers during passport control, when it turned out that he was in search bases for arrest and transfer or extradition,” the spokeswoman said.

She noted: “The man is wanted by the European Arrest Warrant issued by the German judiciary for crimes against property (theft). By court order, the Georgian was temporarily arrested for 7 days.”
