The Masovian Voivodeship Conservator of Monuments ordered the owner of the tenement house at Marszałkowska 41 to carry out conservation and construction works. – Their implementation is necessary and is intended to prevent destruction or significant damage to the monument – argues the conservator.

The decision was made immediately enforceable.

No major war losses

According to the conservator on social media, the tenement house was built in 1893–1894.

“A year after its construction, it became the property of Feliks and Włodzimierz Domański. The facades of the building were given an eclectic decoration with details with a predominance of Renaissance elements. The subsequent owners carried out modernization works in 1938-1939, thus removing most of the historicizing details. This procedure led to a change in the character of the tenement house raw, classicizing,” says the conservator.

He also adds that the building has been preserved in its historical form without any major war damage, and it also survived the process of implementing the Marszałkowska Residential District, during which most of the surrounding historic buildings were destroyed. “The tenement house located at ul. Marszałkowska 41 and the neighboring Church of the Holy Savior are the only remnants and witnesses of the former development of this area,” he reminds.

The building was entered into the register of monuments until 2008.
