Warsaw. How to submit an idea to the participatory budget? Here are some ways

Projects for the current edition of the Warsaw participatory budget can be submitted until January 25. “Week with participatory budget” are online meetings where you will be able to share your ideas, and the project writing marathon is an opportunity to consult your project with officials.

– I invite all residents who want to change Warsaw with the help of the participatory budget – says Karolina Zdrodowska, coordinator for entrepreneurship and social dialogue at the City Hall, quoted in the message. – This is an opportunity to get answers to questions, dispel doubts and even get signatures of support for your ideas – he adds.

Projects can be submitted online on the participatory budget website or by delivering – in the case of district projects – a completed form to the district office or city hall (Al. Jerozolimskie 44).

“Civic Budget Week”

From January 17 to January 21, the event “Week with civic budgetOn particular days of the week, the city will organize meetings devoted to specific topics.

On Tuesday, residents will learn how to translate various project ideas into participatory budget. Employees of the Social Communication Center will also talk about the principles of participatory budgeting. “This is a meeting for people who see various needs for change in their neighborhood or in the entire city and plan to submit a project” – complements the town hall in a communiqué.

On Wednesday, residents will be able to talk to officials dealing with road infrastructure, communication, greenery and environmental protection. As the town hall adds, these issues are also the most popular categories of projects submitted to the participatory budget among residents. On that day, employees of the Municipal Roads Authority or the Greenery Authority will also help prepare projects.

On Thursday, residents will be able to meet an employee of the City Forests. They will find out what projects concerning Warsaw’s forests can be submitted to the participatory budget.

As indicated by the city hall, all meetings will be organized online, on the Zoom platform. They will start at 18. To participate in the meeting, please send an e-mail to bo@um.warszawa.pl – those willing will receive a link with information on how to join the meeting. The number of places is limited.

Project Writing Marathon

On Saturday, January 21, from 11.00 to 16.00, there will be a marathon of writing projects for the participatory budget. In the Targowa Creativity Centre, located at 56 Targowa Street, residents interested in submitting a project to the participatory budget will be met by city hall officials dealing with various tasks. Representatives of offices related to environmental protection, culture, education, health, infrastructure and municipal units, including the Municipal Roads Authority, the Municipal Transport Authority, the Greenery Authority, will be present.

– The project writing marathon is also a great opportunity to, together with other residents, think about what is missing in the immediate vicinity and what should be improved. You can also collect signatures on lists of support for projects – explains the town hall in a communiqué.

Warsaw district offices have also planned their marathons of writing projects. They will start on Saturday, January 14 and will last until Monday, January 23.

Submitting ideas by phone or e-mail

Residents interested in submitting an idea can also take advantage of the daily e-mail and telephone duty hours of employees of district offices, offices and municipal units. Officials will help you fill in the application form, refine the idea or estimate the costs of its implementation. Contact information and information about duty hours can be found on the city’s website.
