A dramatic action in the former military bunker in Wawer. In a pile of rubbish, under broken furniture, city guards found a cold man. He required immediate help. Firemen paved the way to the homeless person. The man was taken to hospital.
On Thursday, after 8 p.m., the guards patrolling Praga Południe received a report of a homeless person who needed immediate help. – The applicant stated that this man is “somewhere, in the post-military areas at Begonii Street” [w Wawrze – red.]. The officers quickly reached the place, but the search of the fortified and wooded area took them over 20 minutes – describes Jerzy Jabraszko from the press section of the city guard.
When they were losing hope of finding a man, suddenly in the darkness, among the rubbish, they noticed a shape resembling a shoe. – Immediately they started in that direction. A chilled man lay under a pile of broken furniture and old quilts. He was breathing. However, he was so weakened that he could not answer questions – Jabraszko reported.
The guards called an ambulance to the site and watched the victim. Due to the terrible access, the support of the fire brigade was also necessary. – Only the firefighters paved the way for rescuers. They managed to get the man out of the collapsing bunker, and the medics immediately took the cold man to the hospital in Szaserów, where he received the necessary help – summed up the city guard.
