Warsaw-Józefów. It will have five kilometers and have a lot to improve

A new, about five -kilometer, section of provincial road number 801 in Warsaw and the Józefów commune will be built. It is to improve security and ensure better communication of the capital with surrounding towns.

On Thursday, a contract was signed to develop the concept of this path. This is a joint undertaking of the Mazovian Marshal's Office and Warsaw. About 1.2 kilometers of the new route will run within the administrative boundaries of Warsaw (from the intersection with Czarnuszki Street), and 3.8 kilometers through the area of ​​the Józefów commune, to the intersection with provincial road No. 721.

– This is an important investment that will significantly improve car communication in the south-eastern part of the Warsaw agglomeration. Inhabitants of the Józefów commune and nearby towns will gain a new, comfortable and above all a safe road – says Anna Brzezińska, a member of the board of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship, cited in the announcement.

The contractor will present several variants

The concept of road construction will be developed by the Promost Consulting Sp. z o. o. sp.k. from Rzeszów. As part of the contract, the Contractor is obliged to present several variants of the route. In this variant showing the construction of a new expressway, in accordance with applicable spatial development plans for Warsaw and Józefów, as well as the variant of the expansion of the existing DW 801. It must include, among others Construction of new roads with intersections, walking and bicycle infrastructure and bus bays. In all variants, the possibility of appointing bus lanes will be analyzed.

– The construction of a new road usually raises a lot of controversy among residents, there are supporters and opponents. However, I believe that in this case conceptual work will proceed efficiently, we will obtain an environmental decision and we will be able to continue design work and as a result build a road – says Grzegorz Obłękowski, director of the Mazowieckie Provincial Road Administration.

The works are to last two years. The Mazovian self -government will allocate PLN 1.6 million for this investment.
