“Today (Monday – ed.) at 12:15 on the route between Warszawa Gdańska – Warszawa Praga stations (near the Gdański bridge), in a prohibited place – apart from passages and crossings, an unauthorized person entered an empty PKP Intercity train on the Zgorzelec route – Warszawa Gdańska” – informed Magdalena Janus from the press office of PKP PLK.

“Currently, trains move between stations along one track. Changes in the running of trains crossing the Gdański Bridge can take about 20 minutes. Travelers are informed about changes at stations and stops and on trains” – added Janus.

According to the police, the accident turned out to be tragic. – Around 12.36 we received information about a fatal hit by a train in the area of ​​the Gdański bridge. He was hit around 30 years old. The prosecutor is on his way to the scene. Train traffic towards Legionowo has been stopped. Actions are underway to determine the circumstances of the accident – said Artur Wojdat, press officer of the Railway Police Station in Warsaw.
