On the occasion of the National Day of Remembrance of “Cursed Soldiers”, public assemblies are organized in the capital. On Saturday, Marcuszów should be expected, among others, on the streets of Mokotów, Praga North, Śródmieście and Żoliborz. There may be difficulties in traffic and public transport.
The capital city hall informs about public assemblies planned for Saturday, March 1. On this day there will be several demonstrations, most of which are related to the commemoration of the National Remembrance Day of “Cursed Soldiers”. “Policemen will watch over the course of all events. Officers will decide to close the streets for traffic. Buses will be directed to the nearest passable streets” – warn officials.
Information on possible changes in the functioning of public transport will be published on Saturday on the website of Warsaw public transport.
Marches, manifestations and celebrations
At 10 o'clock The solemn appeal of memory and the laying of wreaths against the wall of the death detention center at Rakowiecka 37 will begin.
At 11 o'clock The assembly in front of the tomb of an unknown soldier will begin at Piłsudski Square. Its completion is expected around 2pm.
At 11.45 In front of the Primary School at 9 Sierakowskiego Street, the “Trail of the Places of Cursed Soldiers in Warsaw's Praga” will begin. Its participants will move along the streets of: Sierakowskiego, Okrzei, Jagiellońska, Cyril and Methodois, Targowa, 11 November, Strzelecka, Central, 11 November, Ratuszowa and Namysłowska. Around 14.30 the event will end in front of the monument “In honor of the murdered in Prague prisons”. At 15 o'clock a mass is planned for tortured and murdered in Prague torturers in the Memorial Chamber at Strzelecka 8.

At 12 o'clock The congregation is starting in front of the church at 15 Czarnieckiego Street. Then, through Plac Inwalidów and Aleja Wojska Polskiego, the participants will pass the captain of the Captain Witold Pileckiego – at the height of Bitwy Street near Rokitna. There, the assembly may last until 2pm.
At 2pm The assembly in front of the building of the Ministry of Justice at Aleje Ujazdowskie 11. Then the participants will pass: Aleje Ujazdowskie, through Plac Trzech Krzyży, Mokotowska, Wilcza to the intersection with Marszałkowska. The event was scheduled for 16.30.
At 3pm A cyclical assembly will begin on the occasion of the National Day of Remembrance for “Cursed Soldiers”. Participants will meet at the Rakowiecka and Aleja Niepodległości. Then they will pass: Alek Niepodległości, Stefan Batory, Boy-Żeleński, through Plac Unii Lubelska, Aleja Szucha, through Plac Na Rozdroże, Aleja Ujazdowskie to Plac Trzech Krzyży. The assembly may last until 21.00.
During the march of trams of the line: 4, 10, 11, 14, 16, 17, 18 and 33 buses: 107, 108, 116, 118, 119, 127, 131, 138, 159, 166, 167, 168, 171, 174, 180, 503, 517 and 518 They can run along the changed routes.
At 4pm There will be a march from the Siberian Mother Square – at the intersection of Bonifraterska, Muranowska and Konwiktorska – along Bonifraterska Street in front of the Warsaw Uprising at Krasińskich Square. There, at 17.00, a stationary assembly will start, which will last until 20.00.
Other assemblies should not cause difficulties
“On Saturday, March 1, there will also be other, smaller assemblies that were reported in the simplified procedure of the Act on Assembly. According to the provisions, they should not cause traffic difficulties” – announces the town hall.
