Warsaw. New detention on the “poison gang”

Capital policemen returned to the case of the so -called “poison gang”. The analysis of the 2021 case file undertaken by them revealed a number of frauds that were made when taking over property rights to the property. A few days ago they detained three people who had already heard allegations related to the fraud of considerable value, as well as money laundering.

Policemen of the Faculty for fighting criminal terror and killings of the Warsaw Police Headquarters, analyzing the case file of 2021 regarding the so -called The “poison gang” selected more real estate, plots and residential premises that were illegally taken over from their owners. They detained two men aged 62 and 55 and a 48-year-old woman.

They extorted ownership of the property

– As it turns out, these people, acting as figureheads, used naivety, life awkwardness and very often a difficult financial situation of the victims and insidiously extorted the property right to the property. According to the materials collected in this matter, three properties were extorted: apartments in Ostrołęka and three plots in the Halinów commune – Edyta Adamus from the press team of the Warsaw Police Headquarters said.

During the arrest, police officers in suspects secured documentation related to real estate trading and ICT equipment.

– In the District Prosecutor's Office Warsaw Praga, the detainees heard allegations of fraud of considerable value, as well as money laundering and money laundering in connection with fraud. The suspects were covered by police supervision, are forbidden to leave the country and approach other suspects or witnesses – Adamus noted.

Another two people who heard allegations in this matter regarding money laundering, fraud and extortion of credit, as well as giving false testimonies, were brought by police officers from prisons in which they stayed in connection with the case of the “poison gang”.

The accused were, among others, of five killings and attempted murder. According to the Court, however, the basis for charging the accused that they led or tried to lead to the murder of persons indicated in the indictment, did not find confirmation in the evidence gathered. Three people heard sentences from eight to 15 years in prison. Two were acquitted.

According to investigators, the accused sought and chose lonely, sick and often addicted to alcohol. They also checked their assets, in particular their real estate. Then the members of the group made contact with such people, making friends with them. They gained their trust and, under the guise of providing them with help in life matters, obtained power of attorney from those people, including notary, to fully dispose of their real estate.

“Then, with such a power of attorney, they sold the property to themselves or other people. Already at the stage of making friends with victims in order to deprive them of their lives, using their addiction to alcohol, they systematically gave them alcohol containing an admixture of isopropanol, which, as a consequence, resulted in the death of some of the victims, and further as the perpetrators' intention allowed the traces of the crime,” prosecutor's office.
