The City Hall estimated that 300,000 people took part in this year's Night of Museums. The Royal Castle was the most popular, visited by over 23,000 visitors. Museums and places normally inaccessible were also eagerly visited.

Over 300,000 – that's how many people looking for cultural experiences walked the streets of Warsaw on the night of May 18-19. The information collected by the city hall shows that this year, out of 311 institutions, the most frequently visited place was the Royal Castle in Warsaw, which was visited by over 23,000 people.

Many walkers were attracted by the area of ​​the Palace of Culture and Science, where there was an interactive pavilion run by the city and an outdoor exhibition. “The observation deck, the Museum of Evolution, the basement of the Palace of Culture and Science and the Museum of Technology also attracted visitors,” the town hall said.

Interest in museums

The following museums had good attendance: the University of Warsaw, the Independence Museum, the National Museum, the Polish Army Museum and the Warsaw Uprising Museum. Places that are usually inaccessible were also very popular. This includes, among others: the office of the President of Warsaw, which was visited by almost 1,700 people, and the Warsaw Aero Club was visited by 7,000.

Visitors also eagerly viewed the collections of the Warsaw Museum – 9,000 visitors and the Royal Łazienki Museum – 7,000 people.

Nearly 12.5 thousand people used museum lines served by historic rolling stock – including 2.5 thousand passengers used trams and almost 10 thousand passengers used buses.

Turnout is growing

According to the city hall, in 2019 over 185,000 people took part in the Night of Museums, in 2021 it was about 175,000, including 130,000 online. In turn, in 2022, about 230,000 people were interested, and in 2023, about 245,000 people walked. The Night of Museums did not take place in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
