On Sunday, at 1 p.m., we transported 200,000 passengers, said the spokeswoman for the Warsaw Metro, Anna Bartoń. However, these are not exact figures. There could have been even more passengers, because gates were opened at three stations. According to the mayor of the capital, Rafał Trzaskowski, the numbers given by the metro are proof that the march on June 4 was “the largest demonstration in decades”.

– Anyone who has been on the streets of Warsaw and does not try to manipulate reality must admit that it was the largest demonstration in decades. I have not seen such crowds on the streets of Warsaw – said the Mayor of Warsaw Rafał Trzaskowski on Monday at the conference summarizing the march on June 4. And he emphasized: – Yes, we gave exactly half a million, because it results from our calculations. The subway alone carried 200,000 additional passengers that day. The buses alone from all over Poland brought over 60,000 people, all those who wanted to take part in this demonstration. As such, these numbers are indeed very rational and true.
