Parents of children from two kindergartens in Saska Kępa have prepared a petition regarding changes to the paid parking zone. They demand, among other things, that short-term parking be available in the area of the facilities. They explain that due to the lack of public parking spaces on Dąbrówki Street, they are forced to break the regulations or leave their cars far away from the entrance, which is an inconvenience for children.
On Dąbrówki Street, where there are two kindergartens, number 211. Winnie the Pooh and number 162 Saski Zakątek, along with the introduction of a paid parking zone, the possibility of parking for all those who do not have an identifier for this particular zone has been eliminated. It's about the B-3 ID. It is available to residents' subscription holders whose registered address is in this zone.
Since the introduction of the zone, it is no longer possible to legally park on this street on both sides of the road: on one side, parking is prohibited for people who do not have a subscription to the local zone, and on the other side, parking is completely prohibited.
– As parents, since the zone was introduced, we have not been able to park there legally to drop off or pick up our children from kindergarten. This forces us to break the regulations because we have to break the parking ban or park far away from the kindergarten, which is troublesome – said the chairman of the parents' council of kindergarten no. 211, Jacek Władysław Bartyzel.

They prepared a petition and proposals for changes
Over a hundred parents of preschoolers signed a petition to ZDM, the president of Warsaw and the mayor of Praga-Południe asking for help. They demand changes in traffic organization that will allow parking for parents who are dropping off or picking up their children from kindergarten.
They propose two ways to meet their demand. The first one is under the no-parking sign on the northern side of Dąbrówki Street, where there is a no-parking sign, you can install a “Over 15 minutes” sign.
– A no parking sign prohibits parking for more than one minute. This is definitely not enough time to pick up your child from kindergarten. It would be different if it was school, when the children are older. In the case of preschoolers, this is absolutely impossible, said Bartyzel.
He added that such a sign would mean that parking for people without ID would still be prohibited except for up to 15 minutes. – This allows you to send your child to kindergarten. The problem would be solved, he said.
The second option requires some changes to the infrastructure and involves adding a few parking spaces at the end of the green area along Esterska Street next to Dąbrówki Street. These spaces would be reserved for parents dropping off or picking up children and would also have time limits, so that it would not be an additional parking lot but a place for parents of preschoolers.
Bartyzel emphasized that parents expect the problem to be urgently addressed and necessary changes to traffic organization introduced.

ZDM: we will consider what the options are
– We will consider what the options are. We will consider, together with the Road Traffic Management Office, whether any change in traffic organization is necessary there. Would designating kiss and ride parking spaces really be useful there? This petition has just come to us, so we need to recognize it, said Jakub Dybalski, spokesman for the Municipal Roads Authority, when asked about the case. He added that all traffic changes are decided by the traffic management office.
He emphasized that it is not necessary to take children by car. – I understand that there are parents who are used to this way and cannot imagine anything else. But this is not necessary, he added.
