Warsaw. Passenger transport driver arrested. He was charged with robbery

The police detained a 40-year-old passenger transport driver “for the application”. According to the officers, the man took the passenger to a different place than she expected, forcibly pulled her out of the car, tried to strangle her, then robbed and drove away. The 40-year-old was arrested.

A spokeswoman for the Warsaw VII District Police Headquarters, Joanna WÄ™grzyniak, informed that a woman reported to the police station at Grenadierów Street, who informed the police about a robbery committed by a driver providing passenger transport services “on application”. – The victim was taken to a completely different place than she expected, where the man forcibly pulled her out of the car, tried to strangle her, then knocked over, stole the phone and drove away – the policewoman said.

– The case was immediately taken up by criminal investigators who tried to establish the circumstances and course of the whole event. A detailed search was carried out in the place where the robbery took place, the scattered belongings of the victim were secured. Among other things, documents and a purse, she said.

They quickly determined the car that the woman was driving and the driver of the passenger transport “for the application”. “The next step was to reach the 40-year-old. When the policemen appeared in the hostel and in the room where he was supposed to live, it turned out that he was just playing with the stolen woman’s phone. The man was arrested and the phone was secured, she added.

After the arrest, the man was brought to the Warsaw Praga-PoÅ‚udnie District Prosecutor’s Office, where he was charged with robbery. At the request of the prosecutor, the court decided to pre-trial detention of the 40-year-old for three months.
