Fatal accident in Aleje Jerozolimskie. The driver of the passenger car hit a man at a pedestrian crossing. The police say that he had withdrawn rights to drive vehicles. Witness accounts indicate that pedestrians ran into the lanes on a red light.
The accident occurred around 21.30 in the area of the intersection of Aleja Jerozolimskie with Żelazna Street.
Witnesses: It went on red
-The findings of policemen show that a 22-year-old Tajikistan citizen driver of a Toyota vehicle at a marked pedestrian crossing hit a 41-year-old Spanish citizen. According to witness accounts, it ran through the passage when the signaling machine broadcast a red signal for pedestrians. The man died on the spot – informs Kamil Sobótka from the Warsaw Police Headquarters.
He adds that the driver was sober. After checking it in a police base, it turned out that he had the rights to drive vehicles withdrawn. He was detained.
Policemen for several hours conducted activities under the supervision of the prosecutor. There were difficulties on the road towards Zawiszy Square.
Two deductions of one evening
On Thursday evening there was also another tragic accident on the lanes. On Broniewskiego Street in Żoliborz, a 73-year-old man was hit by a passenger car. The victim was hospitalized with serious injuries, he soon died. The police reported that the driver of the driver with a narcottester showed the presence of cocaine in his body.
