Officials remind: pilgrimages to Częstochowa will start on Monday and Tuesday morning. Drivers and passengers of public transport should expect difficulties.
The 44th Warsaw Metropolitan Academic Walking Pilgrimage will be the first to set off on Monday, August 5. At around 7:00 AM, participants will set off from Castle Square and walk along Senatorska Street, through Teatralny and Bankowy Squares, Elektoralna, Chłodna, Żelazna, Solidarności Avenue, Leszno and Górczewska towards the city limits.
At 7:30 a.m. the XXXIII Walking Pilgrimage of the Disabled will begin. The faithful will set off from Słomiana Street and will move along the following streets: Słomiana, Cokolowa, Drzeworytników, Człuchowska, Karabeli, Wyki, Lazurowa, Batalionów Chłopskich, along the S8 route to Szeligowska.
The beginning of the 41st Praga Family Walking Pilgrimage has been planned for 8:30 a.m. The several-day march will begin on Rodziewiczówy Street, and then the group will walk along the following streets: Celownicza, Optyków, Rechniewskiego, Znanieckiego, Kosmatki, Poprawna, Kadetów and Wał Miedzeszyński towards Otwock.
The next pilgrims will set off on Tuesday
On Tuesday, August 6, participants of the 313th Warsaw Walking Pilgrimage to Jasna Góra will set off. The first to leave will be the Academic Groups “17”. At around 7:20 AM, participants will set off from Miodowa Street, and then walk along the following streets: Senatorska, Moliera, Piłsudskiego Square, Królewska, Krakowskie Przedmieście, Nowy Świat, de Gaulle Roundabout and Trzech Krzyży Square, Ujazdowskie Avenue, Belwederska, Sobieskiego, Rzeczypospolitej Avenue to the Temple of Divine Providence.
From there, after a rest, at about 10:30, they will set off on a planned journey along the following streets: Sejmu Czteroletni, Ledóchowska, the service road of the Southern Bypass of Warsaw, Nowoursynowska, Rosoła, Relaksowa and Trakt Leśny. After a break in the Kabacki Forest, the pilgrims will set off along Muchomorowa and Prawdziwka streets towards Konstancin-Jeziorna at 12:30.
The next group of pilgrims will set off at around 7:20 a.m. The participants will walk along the following streets: Nowomiejska, through the Old Town Market Square, Świętojańska, through Castle Square, Senatorska, through Theatre Square, Elektoralna, Chłodna, Wronia, Grzybowska, Towarowa, through Zawiszy Square, Grójecka and al. Krakowska towards Raszyn.
“During pilgrimages, traffic on the streets where the faithful will move may be temporarily suspended,” the town hall noted.
