Accident on the tracks near the Warszawa Płudy railway station. A train hit a man to death. As the railwaymen informed, there were difficulties in running trains to Legionowo, Ciechanów and further towards Gdańsk. Crews were on the scene for several hours.
– Around 14.30 on the railway route between Legionowo station and Warszawa Praga. An outsider broke under the train of Koleje Mazowieckie on the Modlin-Warsaw Chopin Airport route, in an unauthorized place, apart from passages and crossings. At the moment, train traffic is suspended and the possibility of passing trains through the adjacent tracks is being checked – Magdalena Janus from the PKP PLK press team told us after 3 pm.
She added that the difficulties concerned trains going towards Legionowo and further towards Ciechanów and Gdańsk. – We are talking about long-distance trains. And those that run regionally on the section to the Modlin station – she noted.
One track remained closed during the work of the services. Trains in both directions could be delayed by up to 45 minutes
The Public Transport Authority also reported the difficulties. “As a result of the incident in the area of the Warszawa Płudy railway station, there are difficulties in the running of trains SKM lines S3 and S4, and trains KM of the R8 line, R90, RL“, we read in the message.
Traffic was restored after 6 p.m.
