The celebrations of the Polish Army Day began on Saturday, but the most important events are scheduled for Tuesday, August 15. On that day, a parade with the participation of two thousand soldiers will take place in Warsaw.
On Tuesday morning, on the Day of the Polish Army, the president will lay a wreath in front of the Józef Piłsudski monument at the Belvedere Palace, and then will take part in the Holy Mass with his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda. for the homeland at the Field Cathedral of the Polish Army. The culmination of the celebrations will be a military parade with the participation of about two thousand soldiers, about 200 pieces of various types of military equipment and 92 aircraft. The last parade on the occasion of the celebration of the Polish Army Day under the slogan “Faithful to Poland” took place in 2019 in Katowice. The place was chosen in connection with the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First Silesian Uprising – one of the three uprisings that led to the incorporation of part of Upper Silesia into Poland in 1922. On Tuesday, on the Polish Army Day, the above sections of streets will be closed until 6 pm. Moreover, between 8 am and 3 pm, the Gdański Bridge will be closed to pedestrians and cyclists again.
