Warsaw. Public transport ticket for 2 zlotys from the Intercity application

Passengers traveling PKP Intercity will be able to buy a cheap public transport ticket in Warsaw. The new service in the carrier's application will allow you to buy a combined train ticket by train and access to or from the station.

– From Tuesday you will be able to buy an Intercity ticket simultaneously with a ticket to Warsaw public transport – the Minister of Infrastructure Dariusz Klimczak announced during the Monday conference. And he noticed that today 80 percent of tickets are sold on the web.

– From the very beginning we said in the ministry that we want traveling around Poland to be as easiest as possible – said Klimczak and pointed out that the proposal of PKP Intercity and the Warsaw City Transport Authority is just such a pilot program that would want to propose to other city presidents to which PKP Intercity commits.

– We want to check what interest this offer will enjoy, how it will function. I am convinced that it will appeal to passengers – he emphasized.

Warsaw Vice President Tomasz Mencina pointed out that Warsaw focuses on public transport. – It is very good that ideas such as this ticket are created and that we can implement them together. Communication serves not only Warsaw residents, but also to those who want to visit Warsaw. We want everyone to be able to use our modern public transport – he added.

President of PKP Intercity Janusz Malinowski expressed the hope that this solution would be able to duplicate to more cities. – Because for the passenger the most important thing is that the purchase of the service is as simple as possible – he added. Railwaymen want to persuade the authorities of other large cities such as Gdańsk, Poznań, Wrocław, Kraków or the Upper Silesian District to this solution.

The director of the Municipal Transport Board Katarzyna Strzegowska emphasized that public transport is one of the basic services that the city provides for residents and visitors. – The service we are implementing now is simple – we have two tickets in one place. I am convinced that this will increase the number of public transport passengers in Warsaw – she added.

Ticket from the application for 2 zlotys. How does it work?

When buying an intercity railway ticket to/from Warsaw in the PKP Intercity application, just select the option of traveling by vehicles of Warsaw public transport (WTP). A ticket on the basis of which you can drive around Warsaw by subway, tram, bus or SKM trains costs PLN 2 and is available only with a train ticket.

The 75 -minute ZTM ticket costs PLN 4.40, and PLN 2 purchased by the IC application.

The right to travel by Warsaw by public transport should be used within 12 hours before the train departure from Warsaw or after the train arrival in Warsaw. It applies in the first ZTM ticket zone.

After entering the tram, bus or SKM train, it is enough to scan the QR code in the PKP Intercity application from stickers placed in the vehicle. In the case of subway, the QR code should be scanned in front of the goals at the station.

The ticket is valid for 75 minutes, and its validity is indicated by the progress bar placed under the QR code. In the case of ticket control in public transport, it is enough to show the QR code in the PKP Intercity application.

The service will be available in the PKP Intercity application from April 29.
