The inauguration of the charter connection between the Warsaw-Radom airport and Turkish Antalya is scheduled for Saturday. – The summer season at the Warsaw-Radom airport has officially started – said Anna Dermont, spokeswoman for Polish Airports (PPL). Flights on this route will be operated by LOT Polish Airlines and Enter Air.
From June, new charter and regular connections are to be launched from the Warsaw-Radom airport in stages. At the beginning, from Saturday, June 3, charter flights to Antalya are to start. – The network of charter connections, i.e. made to order of travel agencies, includes BulgariaTurkey and Albania – TVN24 Biznes informed Anna Dermont, spokeswoman for PPL, which manages the Warsaw-Radom airport.
According to the information available on the website of the airport in Radom, a plane from Antalya is to arrive at 12.20, departure to Turkey is scheduled for 2.35pm. Today’s charter flights will be operated by PLL LOT.
This Wednesday, the first flights on the route Radom – Antalya operated by Enter Air are also to take place.
Warsaw-Radom Airport – connections
As announced, flights to Tirana – June 11, Preveza – June 16 and Varna – June 20 are to be launched in the coming weeks. – At the peak of the season, the number of operations will be 38 per week, which is more than three times more than before – noted the PPL spokeswoman.
Warsaw-Radom Airport was officially opened on April 27 this year. From the moment of opening until May 28, 8,549 passengers used the port in the south of Mazovia. According to Adrian Furgalski, president of the management board of the Economic Advisory Group TOR, this year the number of passengers will be “about 100,000”. In the expert’s opinion, such a number will allow in 2023 to overtake the Zielona Góra-Babimost airport in terms of the number of passengers served.
They are the only regular carrier present in the port LOT Polish Airlines. PPL informs that it is “constantly in talks with new carriers” and hopes that it will soon be able to inform about further connections from the Warsaw-Radom airport.
Adrian Furgalski, however, does not expect such airlines as Irish Ryanair or Hungarian Wizz Air to appear in the port in the south of Mazovia. – This is an airport for Radom, a part of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship and perhaps a part of Lubelskie, but for it to be successful, it would have to actually be for Warsaw to some extent, and there is no chance of that. The name itself will not change anything here – the expert pointed out in a recent interview with TVN24 Biznes.
The President of the Management Board of the TOR Economic Advisors Team pointed out that “Wizz Air will increase the number of operations in Warsaw by 10 percent in the winter season, basing another plane here”. – This rather indicates a lack of interest in Radom, and general statements about ongoing talks with PPL are courtesy, because you have to live well with the host of Okęcie. The carrier has too large planes for this local demand in Radom – emphasized Furgalski.
– Ryanair, in turn, directly says that Radom is “one of the stupidest ideas” and is not interested in it, because there will be no Warsaw traffic there. Therefore, it would be pointless to compete for such a passenger with Wizz Air, since it is strengthening in the capital – added the expert.
