A new, southern viaduct of Trasa Łazienkowska is growing next to the Agrykola Park. Concrete pouring began on Friday. After the completion of all works, in March next year, drivers will have at their disposal two modern viaducts connecting Śródmieście with Saska Kępa, Grochów and Gocław, the capital city hall announced.

Works on the viaduct are carried out along the entire, nearly half a kilometer section. The foundations are being built, the boarding and reinforcement of the pillars and the viaduct slab are in progress. The first supports have already been concreted, and on Friday, concreting of the slab began over the Sedlaczka roundabout – it will be on it, among others, a roadway and a pedestrian and bicycle route.

700 cubic meters of concrete

“The works, started on Friday, April 28, consist in pouring concrete on the steel reinforcement bars (pumped from concrete mixers called pears). The whole operation requires the delivery of as much as 700 cubic meters of concrete to the construction site, from which over 50 meters of the new viaduct will be built” – he described town hall.

Over one hundred people are currently working on the investment. In addition to the construction of the southern viaduct, work is continued on the northern side. Profiling of embankments is underway there, which will be planted with greenery. The Rozbrat 02 stop is also under construction. Its launch is planned for this quarter.

The reconstructed viaducts of Trasa Łazienkowska at Park Agrykola were designed and built as two twin, reinforced concrete slab viaducts in a frame arrangement. The length of each of them is about 400 meters. The viaducts were built together with the rest of Trasa Łazienkowska and have been used since 1974. Due to their deteriorating technical condition, it was necessary to modernize them.

The works will last until spring 2024

In July 2021, the Warsaw City Development Board signed a contract with SKANSKA for the reconstruction of viaducts. The first one, the northern one, stayed out of traffic at the end of January 2022. It was then demolished and then rebuilt. In December 2022, i.e. after less than eleven months, a new, the north viaduct was ready. Its opening made it possible to divert traffic in both directions to the northern side of Trasa Łazienkowska and start work on the southern side.

The investment at the Agrykola Park will last until March 2024. On the new viaducts, apart from the roadways, there will be bilateral pedestrian and bicycle routes, ramps improving the accessibility of the road for people with mobility limitations, as well as modern lighting.

The cost of the investment is approximately PLN 87.5 million.
